NOLA or BUST!

Help get the Grand Guignol traveling theater troupe to the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival this April!

We are so excited to be bringing this weird and wild piece of puppet theater to the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival. But that's no easy feat. We have 5 performers and 2 technicians that must travel with the show. 2 suitcases full of puppets, clown costumes and fake blood. We have one large air b&b to pay for, as well as many plane tickets. PLEASE consider helping us make this crazy voodoo dream come true!

Drama of Works presents an instructional evening of theater for children (*NOT really for children). In between beautiful, innovative, large-scale shadow puppet renditions of literature by Edgar Allan Poe they use a toy theater cemetery to warn children of the dangers of misbehaving. The tales of The Raven, Tell-Tale Heart, Annabel Lee, and The Black Cat come to life spectacularly with DOW’s signature inventive shadow puppetry! All the while trick toy theater skeletons and cadavers inspired by Heinrich Hoffman, Edward Gorey, Maurice Sendak, & the Dead Milkmen get sliced, blown away, drowned, set on fire… Is everyone ready for a bloody good time?!?

Traveling with the show is director/performer Gretchen Van Lente, performers Amy Carrigan, Emmanuel Elpenord, and Kevin P. Hale; costume & makeup designer/performer Taylor Harrison, lighting designer Jennifer Wilcox, and stage manager Meghan Williams.

The show will play at the Den of Muses April 9-12, 2026.
