Mephistophilis Faustus, a german scholar seeking knowledge beyond the capacity of a normal human, turns to the one force that will allow him the wishes he desires. Mephistophilis, both loyal to his commander Lucifer and simpathetic of the path Faustus is taking, is the lead demon in Christopher Marlowe's tale of "Doctor Faustus".
